Police: NJ Man Who Led Officers On Series Of Chases Arrested

VORHEES TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say a New Jersey man suspected of leading police on multiple high-speed chases over the last month has been arrested after his latest attempt.

Vorhees police say 46-year-old James Fitzpatrick, of Beverly, was arrested after leading police on a chase on Route 73 Sunday afternoon that ended with his car overturned after a collision.

Police say they attempted to pull Fitzpatrick over in his Honda Civic for an equipment violation when he sped up on the shoulder. He went through a red light and then hit two other vehicles. His car overturned and Fitzpatrick fled on foot.

Police caught him after a foot chase.

He was being held at the Camden County Correctional Facility on $50,000 bail. It wasn't immediately known if he had an attorney to comment on his behalf.
