SEATTLE (CBS) — A Nike outlet store in Washington state was ransacked by thousands of shoppers on Black Friday.
CBS Seattle affiliate KIRO-TV reports that hundreds of shoe boxes were thrown on the floor and discarded at the Nike store at the Seattle Premium Outlets in Tulaip on Black Friday.
Images posted on social media show people trying to walk through the carnage.
Larry Downer posted video of the aftermath on Facebook.
“The wake of consumerism at the #Nike Factory Store is savage. Found Davis some basketball shoes, saved a lady from drowning in a sea of orange boxes, and sprained my neck from shaking my head so much,” Downer posted.
A store employee told BuzzFeed News that 20,000 passed through the store between 8 p.m. Thursday and 10 p.m. Friday.
“People [were] not putting anything back in the right place at all the whole time we were open,” the employee told BuzzFeed News, adding that it was “Jurassic Park crazy.”
