Video Captures Md. Teacher Calling Students 'Idiots,' Using N-Word

PHILADELPHIA (CBS)—A teacher in Baltimore was caught on cell phone video apparently calling students "idiots" and using the n-word during an in-class outburst, CBS Baltimore reports.

The incident in question happened at Harlem Park Middle School, in Baltimore.

The video shows a female teacher attempting to get a student out of her classroom, yelling multiple times, "Get out of my class, get out of class."

During a visible outburst, the class laughs on as the teacher continues raising her voice toward the students—at one point calling the students "idiots," and allegedly using the n-word.

According to CBS Baltimore, the principal of the school addressed the video, which has been shared thousands of times on Facebook, and says the teacher in question is no longer a Baltimore City Public School employee.

"Yesterday a middle school science teacher at Harlem Park Elementary/Middle School engaged in verbally abusive behavior and made racially charged comments directed at students," said the school district in a statement on Thursday. "The teacher involved in the incident is no longer employed by City Schools. At Baltimore City Public Schools, we are committed to creating positive and equitable learning environments in school communities where all members are welcome, supported, and valued. No form of discriminatory behavior of any kind is or will be tolerated."
