Missing Md. Student With N.J. Ties Found Safe After 7 Days

PHILADELPHIA (CBS)—A University of Maryland student, with ties to New Jersey, has been found safe after seven days, according to authorities at the University of Maryland College Park.

Kaitlyn George, 21, was last seen leaving her dorm room at the College Park campus on November 10.

Campus police say Kaitlyn was scheduled to meet a friend around 5 p.m., at the university's recreation center to go on a hiking trip. When Kaitlyn did not show up, her friend came to the police station to report her missing.

Kaitlyn was spotted multiple times in Baltimore, once on the evening of November 10, when a taxi driver dropped her off in Federal Hill. She was recently spotted late Tuesday night when video captured her entering the Baltimore Greyhound bus station.

The St. Joseph's Catholic Church Toms River, where Kaitlyn frequently attends, took to Facebook in hopes of a safe return.

"Praying for the safe return of Kaity George, a beloved young parishioner and CYGNUS youth minister," said church. "Prayer is powerful! Prayer works! We are calling upon the help of our Toms River community, Please if you have any information contact officials!"

Police at the University of Maryland say Kaitlyn was found alone at a fast food restaurant in Houston, Texas.

It's still unclear if there was any motive to Kaitlyn's travels.
