Temple Students Seeking Harmony March To City Hall

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Philadelphia City Hall was the scene of another post-election protest Friday as more than 100 Temple students marched there from the North Philadelphia campus.

It was not exactly a peaceful protest, in the sense that many of the marchers were musical theater majors and their chosen form of expression was to sing.

"A bunch of students who are upset with all the hate in the world right now are trying to create unity and equality," says demonstrator Cassidy Sannders.

She says it wasn't a political protest, but inspired by political events.

Junior Angel Sagala had his own reasons for being there:

"My family is from Mexico and I am from Mexico as well. I have a little sister who told me she was afraid to go to school. So that alone drives my fire to come out here today and promise to stand up for my sister, stand up for my friends and choose to love people."

The students were looking for harmony, in more than one sense of the word.
