Sami Gayle Of "Blue Bloods" Shares Why She Loves Philly

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- I love Reading Terminal Market, said Sami Gayle, one of the stars of CBS' Blue Bloods. She said that when I visited the set of the show, and loves it enough that she kept a promise to come visit.

It was a break from the Big Apple to experience some Brotherly Love, Sisterly Affection and of course, some good food.

"I think there is something a bit more authentic about this place than some of the places similar to this that we have in New York," Gayle said.

So, where does she like to eat at the market?

"I like the Amish Bakery, for their blueberry fritters and then this 4th Street Cookies for their black and white cookies. There's a good pretzel place here too...great sugar cinnamon pretzels."

She's also experiencing some sweet success with Blue Bloods. She's been on the show since she was 14, and will turn 21 on her next birthday. Her character has grown right along with her.

"I think she's really come in to understanding how to formulate her own opinion," Gayle said. "It's interesting cause she use to always agree with Uncle Danny or agree with people in her family and now when you see her at the dinner table, she's always a voice of opposition."

No one was opposed to having the young star in the market. There were plenty of photos taken and a lot of friendliness.

"I love meeting people who love what we do," she explained.

I understand her on that. Philly is like a big town with a small town feel and you see that everywhere you go.

Maybe we could have the Reading Terminal Market cater the family meal on Blue Bloods sometime. "Oh my goodness, I think everyone at our table would just love it," Gayle said.
