After Questions Throughout Campaign, PA Senator Pat Toomey Votes Trump

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- On Election Day, Pennsylvania Senator Pat Toomey attempted to remain in his seat in Senate squaring off with Katie McGinty. Throughout his campaign, Toomey has been pressed on whether, or not he fully supports fellow Republican Donald Trump for president.

Toomey is set up in Breinigsville, Pa., on Election Day. McGinty and Toomey ran what became the most expensive Senate race in U.S. history.

Most candidates choose to vote early in the morning, but Toomey voted at 6:45 p.m. Did he vote for Trump?

Yes, Toomey informed people that he did cast his vote for the Republican nominee.

Tuesday was a day to lay low for Toomey who did not meet with reporters before voting. Requests were made to speak with him in an effort to find out who he planned on voting for in the race for the White House.

Toomey has stayed away from the Trump question for the most part on the campaign trail.
