Fletcher Cox: 'We Were The Best Team On The Field'

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Sometimes the score is not always indicative of which team is better in sports.

According to Eagles defensive lineman Fletcher Cox, Sunday night's Eagles-Cowboys divisional battle was one of those times.

"We were the best team on the field today," Cox said after the Eagles' 29-23 overtime loss to the Cowboys. "I will make that statement. We were a better team today, but obviously we didn't finish. They made more plays than we did today, and that's that."

Cox clarified the quote later on Twitter.

The Eagles were outgained 460 yards to 291 yards of total offense, while both teams committed one turnover and had the ball for 33 minutes.
