Dom Giordano Column: What The FBI News Will And Won't Do

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Is Donald Trump going to be the next president of the United States? With the statement of FBI Director James Comey about newly discovered emails that came to light in the investigation of Anthony Weiner, Mrs. Clinton's email server abuses are back in play.

This gives a new chance to Trump to win over voters that don't want to vote for Hillary Clinton.

I'm most interested to see how this plays out in Pennsylvania. It's clear to me to Trump will do much better in Philadelphia than Mitt Romney. I think much anecdotal evidence shows that Trump has Democratic labor leaders very worried.

Trump's style and personality have given him a path to union voters in Philadelphia and his stances on trade and globalism have given him great support in areas of Pennsylvania that feel abandoned by elites of both parties.

The key to this new information from the FBI is how will it impact voters in the collar counties of Philadelphia. Will the people that went for Mitt Romney who have been turned off by Trump's crude behavior decide that they can't vote for Mrs. Clinton due to her corruption?

I do think this new information assures that there is no chance that Democrats will take back the House. I think this will help Republicans maintain control of the Senate. Pat Toomey has had to constantly answer for Trump's problems and now Katie McGinty will hopefully be forced to defend Mrs. Clinton.

McGinty has her own email issues and this may force voters to look at her.

Commonwealth Court has ordered her to turn over thousands of emails demanded by the Office of Open Records around her time as Governor Wolf's Chief of Staff. I think this will give Toomey momentum to push past her and I think that will be a great benefit for Pennsylvania citizens.
