Man Dies After Falling Into Trash Pit On Main Line
PENN VALLEY, Pa. (CBS) - Authorities say a Bala Cynwyd man is dead after falling 45 feet while unloading trash Saturday afternoon on the Main Line.
This happened just before 1 p.m. at the Koegel Public Works Complex on North Woodbine Avenue in Penn Valley.
The Lower Merion Refuse Department was accepting household trash and recycling as part of their Fall Clean-Up Event. Police say the 68-year-old victim was unloading his rubbish from a truck when he fell.
After officials got him out, he was taken to the Lankenau Hospital Trauma Center where he was pronounced dead.
The event was cancelled for the rest of the day Saturday. It re-opens Sunday morning.
