WILMINGTON, DEL. (CBS) – Family, friends and fellow firefighters are gathered at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church on the 800 block of S. Broom Street in Wilmington for the funeral service of fallen Wilmington firefighter, Lt. Christopher Leach.

Leach and Senior Firefighter Jerry Fickes Jr. were killed in the line of duty battling a house fire on September 24.

A public viewing for Fickes was held at Grace Lutheran Church on the 2000 block of Graves Road in Hockessin last night.

Officials announced a joint memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 1 at the Chase Center on the Riverfront, located at 815 Justison Street in Wilmington.
