How Arnold Palmer's Impact In The Region Brought 'Golf To Light'
HORSHAM, Pa. (CBS) -- At Commonwealth National Golf Club, Arnold Palmer's signature design can be found just about everywhere you look. The way the greens roll, tree placement, fairways, traps...Arnie Palmer had his hands in it all.

"It's amazing," said Larry Schlippert, the course superintendent. "Still hard to believe he is gone. Such a national figure, a world renowned figure he was."
It was 26 years ago when Palmer cut the ribbon on the club. The design and implementation were all according to Palmer's precise specifications. Work took a year and a half.
Palmer, a legend on and off the course, died on Sunday from heart-related complications. He designed the course along with courses in Blue Bell and Mount Laurel.
Perhaps his legacy is best seen in the love of the game and how he helped to mainstream a now beloved sport. "He brought the game of golf to light," Schlippert said. "The camaraderie with golf and the sharing of children and men and women alike in the game of golf."
