1 Dead, 1 Critically Injured In Florence Township Collision

FLORENCE Twp., NJ (CBS) – Authorities say a 27-year-old woman was killed early Friday morning when the vehicle she was a passenger in struck a utility pole.

Officials say a preliminary investigation found speed was factor in the crash.

Authorities say Ariana Williams was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on West Front Street in Florence Township, New Jersey.

The driver, Justin Rodriguez, 25, was ejected from the vehicle upon impact.

Authorities say he was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton where he is listed in critical condition.

Officials say Rodriguez is employed as a police officer in Burlington Township. They say he was not on duty at the time of the collision and was driving his own vehicle.

No charges have been filed at this time.

The accident is being investigated by the Florence Township Police Department and the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office.
