When summer visitors are gone, players find a world of difference beyond price.

“A lot of the holes, it’s just you and whoever you’re playing golf with,” this golfer tells KYW Newsradio. “It’s nice and peaceful out there.”

Ditto if you head west for the gently rising Catoctin Mountains near Gettysburg.

The dual ski and golf resort of Liberty Mountain and Carroll Valley Golf Course is 2.5 hours west of here. $225 a night gets you a room next to the first tee, two rounds of golf, breakfast and dinner.
