RADNOR, Pa. (CBS) — A local higher learning institution celebrated a major milestone on Monday.

Cabrini College is now Cabrini University, and to celebrate officials held a day of activities and events when their student’s started classes.

“It’s really that we’re growing our footprint in online education, in professional master’s programs.” Cabrini President Don Taylor says even though the school has gained university status it’s remaining true to their roots.

“The things that we do really well, small class sizes, personal attention, interaction, advising by faculty. All of that is going to remain.”

Taylor says over their nine month campaign to gain university status they’ve received very positive feedback from their 1,400 undergrads

“The missionary sisters and the board of trustees voted unanimously. The alumni board was all in favor of it. Monday’s festivities included a reception and ribbon cutting to honor the milestone.
