Chester Entrepreneurs Unite To Bring Revenue To City

CHESTER, Pa. (CBS) - The first annual Entrepreneurial Expo for the City of Chester is gearing up for next week.

The goal is to transform the term "Chester Made" into revenue for the people that live there.

"We want everybody to see the value that's in Chester,"says Breon Barrett -- CEO of JR Kickz, a year-old online sneaker and sports apparel company he created in his living room. "To see it grow to people wearing the apparel, seeing it in stores-- it's wild to see the progress of the company."

But Barrett's road has been bumpy. He started and re-started the company twice over the past four years, but found mentors and support to help him stabilize.

Now he wants to share what he learned, and bring other area entrepreneurs together so Chester's growing businesses community can network and grow:

"It's going to all of us to bring it together into a successful thing we're trying to do."

The Expo takes place September 2nd at the Ethel Water Park from 7pm to 10pm. Dozens of business and city services will be available to help business owners navigate the system.

"It's a win, win for everybody," he says. "The entrepreneurs, the city."
