You want rock? Deep breath. Avenged Sevenfold, Alice In Chains, Slayer, The Offspring, Breaking Benjamin, Volbeat, Chevelle, The Cult, The Pretty Reckless, Pierce The Veil, Of Mice & Men, Ghost, Anthrax, Killswitch Engage, Sevendust, and many many more will all be on hand for this expanded two day face-melting, sleeve-cutting, neck-trashing extravaganza September 17th and 18th.

To fuel your fist-pumping, there will also be craft beer and gourmet “man” food available.

The headliner for night one in Chester is Alice In Chains. Born on the forefront of grunge, the Seattle guitar sludge-slingers have lived a couple lifetimes since their debut in 1990. They tragically lost their lead singer Layne Staley in 2002, and began writing their latest chapter with new lead singer William DuVall in 2006.

“There’s a lot of back story that’s led up to everything that’s happened in the last ten years,” DuVall explains from his home last week between tours.

DuVall’s beginnings with Alice In Chains started well before their first recordings together. From early meetings and tours with guitarist Jerry Cantrell, to shows and scrutiny when first playing with the band in 2006, DuVall grew into his place within Alice In Chains.

“We became our own thing. There was a true organic bond formed just from hitting all those stages and all those time zones under all of those different circumstances and all of this noise going on around us” says DuVall. “That momentum is what led to recording.”

We had a chance to catch up with William DuVall about his ten years in Alice In Chains, his recent string of shows with Guns N’ Roses, and everything else in between. To hear the full interview, listen below.
