Will Drake Have A Special Guest At His Show In Philadelphia?

By Michael Cerio

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Drizzy season is fast approaching in Philadelphia as Drake brings his Summer Sixteen tour to the Wells Fargo Center on Sunday night.

For those not paying attention, Champagne Papi has been Taylor Swifting audiences across the country with city-centric special guests.

There was Kanye West popping up in Chicago, Rihanna was "Too Good" during his hometown stop in Toronto, Lebron James made his way to Columbus for Drake's Ohio show, and new Kicks guard Derrick Rose, Fat Joe, and a host of others helped him keep it lit in New York.

Last night was the latest with Eminem joining Drake on stage in Detroit, because 8 mile and what not.

There's no movie. There's no Mekhi Phifer. It's time get serious and start thinking about who could surprise us in Philadelphia.

With all due respect to Philly favorites Freeway and Beanie Sigel, we've seen that trick before. The Roc Records gang has been the go-to guests for years and are yawn-inspiring at this point. No this is Drake, and for this occasion we deserve some really nice things.

In an effort to make sure we end up on a new level, here are some suggestions for Aubrey to make Philly the most memorable.

Meek Mill

Look, the chances are zero right? We can dream it though. It seems like a pop culture millennium ago, but last summer we were gripped with the feud between these two. Diss tracks and memes popped up daily, Joe Carter was evoked, madness ensued. What a statement it would be bury the hatchet on one of the biggest stages in Philadelphia. Twitter better ready another server just in case.

Nicki Minaj

If we can't have a Drake-Meek-meet-cute, can we at least get a Nicki Minaj olive branch? They have shared the mic and sexually suggestive images on half a dozen songs and Nicki is an honorary Philadelphian and possible Sixers season ticket holder. Plus if Drake still isn't ready to make nice with Meek, bringing his girlfriend on stage is as good as any diss track. We need this.

Will Smith

Last August, Overbrook's own made his way to the Great White North to take part in Drake's OVO Fest during that Meek Mill moment. Big Willy also says he's ready to jump back into the rap game. With Suicide Squad needing a few headlines, this makes too much sense. Why should the DJ get all the bookings?

Kevin Hart

What's that? Kevin Hart is still on his honeymoon? Can we get Kevin Bacon?

Ben Simmons

Drake is the "Global Ambassador" for the Toronto Raptors, and has already featured a few NBA stars at shows on the Summer Sixteen tour. The number one draft pick would set the place off if he showed up for some "Hotline Bling" dancing.

The Roots

Sure. Ok. But only because we're down one performance after we missed our July 4th date together.

For what it's worth, we are not guaranteed anything. Summer Sixteen in Philadelphia could just be Drake and Future and that would be quite nice. Really though, don't we deserve it?
