Federal Charges Dropped Against 4 DNC Protesters
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Federal authorities won't prosecute four people arrested during the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, saying the protesters instead will face local charges.
The motion to drop the federal case was filed Monday in Philadelphia. Three women and one man had each faced a count of entering a restricted area. It's unclear what local charges each faces.
The demonstrators were arrested July 26 after breaching a security fence outside the Wells Fargo Center, where Democrats held their convention and gave Hillary Clinton their nomination for president.

Seven other fence-jumpers continue to face federal charges.
Philadelphia police also briefly detained and fined about 100 other demonstrators during the four-day political gathering.
Officers issued $50 tickets for disorderly conduct and released protesters with complimentary bottles of water.
