Key Organizer Of DNC Says City Looks Good, Despite Some Kinks

By Tim Jimenez

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Democratic National Convention is halfway to the finish line. So, how's Philadelphia doing in the spotlight?

After years of preparations, the DNC finally arrived and Kevin Washo, executive director of Philadelphia 2016 says for the city is looking good.

"The people I've talked to, delegates or guests of delegates, they're thrilled with the choice of Philly."

But it hasn't smooth sailing.

"It's like a football game. You're not going to get a first down on every play and you're not going get a touchdown on every drive."

Some out of town journalists haven taken to social media, expressing their frustration at some of the logistics of getting around or getting food or water, for example.

Washo says they've made adjustments along the way to address some of those problems. And he says despite some hiccups, the city, with a lot of help from police and many volunteers, is shining brightly.
