Former Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey Back In Town To Address DNC

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Former Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey said "I'm with Hillary Clinton," on Wednesday night at the Democratic National Convention. Ramsey said,"we need a strong steady leader." "We need to champion our greatest hopes. Hillary will," he added.

Ramsey endorsed Clinton, saying that she would "build bridges between communities and police. And folks, that's better than building walls."

Ramsey became the commissioner in Philadelphia, under Mayor Michael Nutter, in 2008. He came out of retirement to accept the position and stuck with Nutter throughout his administration in Philadelphia.

The former Philadelphia Police Commissioner spoke about the eight police officerswho lost their lives in the line of duty during his time. "After the attacks in Dallas and Baton Rouge, an entire nation mourned eight more."

Ramsey said that Clinton would be the president the county needs to improve the safety of law enforcement, while bringing communities and police together.
