Joel Embiid Pays Homage To Sam Hinkie On Instagram
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- To say he's a fan favorite would be under-selling it.
Joel Embiid is one of, if not the, most outspoken and entertaining Philadelphia athletes on social media. Embiid, who was selected by Sixers ex-general manager Sam Hinkie with the third overall pick in the 2014 draft, hasn't played in an NBA game yet due to foot injuries.
However, Hinkie resigned in April as the Sixers' and NBA's patience of his process wore thin.
Embiid, 22, echoed the sentiment of Hinkie's fans posting a photo on Instagram with the caption: "THE GOAT #HeDiedForOurSins #TrustTheProcess"
As for his foot, well that is looking much better. Sixers fans are clamoring to see the 7'0, 250-pound center in action this season.
And for the hat trick of Instagram over the weekend, Embiid apparently arm-wrestled Justin Bieber at Hyde Lounge in Las Vegas.
