Cops: Man Stabbed Multiple Times In Unprovoked Attack At Movie Theater
SANTA ROSA, Ca. (CBS) – A nightmare come to life.
Police say a man was stabbed multiple times while seeing a movie in Santa Rosa, California Wednesday afternoon.
According to CBS San Francisco, the victim was seeing a horror movie.
Authorities say the 21-year-old man was stabbed while watching a movie at the Roxy Theater. They say the suspect was unknown to the victim and it appears to be an unprovoked attack.
Witnesses tended to the victim until medics arrived, police say.
Based on witnesses' descriptions of the suspect, officers searched the area and soon located a 23-year-old male who matched their description.
Police took him into custody for attempted murder after he was positively identified as the suspect.
Officers recovered a weapon at the theater.
The victim was taken to a local hospital to be treated for multiple stab wounds. No word on his condition.
The incident remains under investigation.
