Villanova Men's Basketball Team Honored With John Wanamaker Athletic Award

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- More recognition today for Villanova's national champion basketball team. Head coach Jay Wright and a few team members were at the Crystal Tea Room this afternoon to accept the prestigious Wanamaker Award.

His team has had a parade and they've been congratulated by President Obama. Now, Jay Wright's National champion Wildcats have been presented with the John Wanamaker Athletic Award, given each year to the athlete or team that has done the most to reflect credit upon Philadelphia.

Wright told reporters he's been trying to prepare for next season, while respecting the need to accept accolades for the last one.

"I always dreamed about playing well enough to win it, Wright said. "But I never thought about what would happen afterwards. I'd never planned for it. I don't think I was personally prepared."

Wright says his team has been invited to the ESPYs, and his players might be more excited about that than the White House visit.
