More Than 200 Dogs Found In Home In 'Deplorable' Conditions

HOWELL, N.J. (AP/CBS) — Authorities in Monmouth County have found 276 dogs living in a home in Howell in what one official called "deplorable" conditions.

Neighbors told CBS, reports of a loose dog last month prompted the Humane Society to visit the home.

Officials from the SPCA and Humane Society along with police and the county sheriff's and health department were on the scene Friday.

The dogs are described as small breeds.

On its Facebook page, the Monmouth County sheriff's office says it's the worst animal hoarding case they've ever seen.

Officials say charges are expected to be filed against the couple who live in the bi-level house.
