PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — My Great Shore Debate for 2016 is over. I hosted representatives from Wildwood, Ocean City and Stone Harbor. It’s clear that we are lucky to be so close to the Jersey Shore but also to have such diverse towns.
I know so many people who are shore town loyal. They go to a particular town as kids and then take their families to the same towns for years. Roe and I have become shore town disloyal. We both grew up going to Wildwood and we started out taking the kids there but ultimately Roe had a friend and we moved to Cape May. We loved Cape May but it was very expensive. Roe struck again with a friend and for the last three years we’ve rented in North Wildwood. It’s amazing how each town has its own niche. I still associate Ocean City as the ultimate family town. It’s not just that they don’t allow alcohol but it’s clear that they don’t allow rowdy behavior or businesses.
