Police: Years-Long Investigation Leads To Large Scale Heroin Bust In Delaware

KENT/SUSSEX COUNTIES, Del. (CBS) – Authorities say multiple people have been indicted as part of an investigation involving a large scale heroin distribution and money laundering scheme in Delaware.

State Police say on May 11, members of the Delaware State Police, Sussex Drug Unit, Division of Gaming Enforcement and the Sussex County Attorney General's Office concluded their two-year long investigation.

Thirteen total agencies were involved.

Police say Deangelo Mcglotten was the alleged ring leader for the heroin distribution into Kent and Sussex Counties, along with his close associates Timothy Felix and Adrian Coverdale.

In addition to the heroin distribution, police say, the investigation found the illegal proceeds of the drug organization were allegedly being laundered by Salman Choudary through casinos, businesses and personal properties.

Authorities say the organization supplied several drug markets in Sussex County.

Police say in total, 13 suspects were charged with 77 criminal offenses.

On January 13, 2016, police say a search warrant was executed at Deangelo Mcglotten's residence.

Police say 42,250 bags or approximately 633 grams of heroin were seized, along with $7,740, a stolen 9 mm handgun and a Marlin 30-30 rifle.

On May 11, search warrants were executed at seven additional locations in Delaware.
