New Castle County Police Team Up With Local Kids For 'Running Man Challenge'

NEW CASTLE, De. (CBS) -- You can add the New Castle County Police Department to the long list of people and groups taking part in the Running Man Challenge. The challenge, dance and song have become a viral part of social media culture and has almost everyone showing off their best moves.

The challenge features the song, "My Boo," by Ghost Town DJ's. The department enlisted the help of some local children from the Garfield Park PAL as they took on the challenge.

The New Castle County Police are not the only ones in our area who have taken part in the challenge. The Sixers dancers got in on the craze and the National Champion Villanova Wildcats played a huge role in getting the trend off the ground after they responded to the challenge of one of the first teams to do it, the Maryland basketball team.

Even the Philadelphia Union have gotten in on the fun.

On Facebook, the department challenged the University of Delaware Police, the Newark Delaware Police, the Wilmington Department of Police and the Delaware State Police to see if they could rival their dance moves.

You may not have taken part in the challenge yourself, but if you've seen the videos, there is no way the catchy tune hasn't at least made you practice your moves in the mirror. It certainly looks like these kids and officers did.
