Philadelphia Police Investigate Carjacking Of 18-Year-Old

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Philadelphia Police Department is investigating a carjacking that took place on April 17 and have released a video as they ask for the public's help.

The Philadelphia Police are looking for a person of interest involved in the case. The say the individual goes by the name D'Shawn.

According to police, an 18-year-old male parked his car on the 300 block of Rittenhouse Street where he met D'Shawn around 10:32 a.m. The two then walked to a nearby store on the 5900 block of Morton street.

The victim used the ATM and D'Shawn waited for the victim while using his cell phone.

Police say that when the two men arrived back at the victim's car, they were met by two men with handguns.

Officials say the victim was ordered to the ground and had his wallet taken along with his car keys. The second suspect and D'Shawn were out of sight.

Police say the suspect was then told to leave and the suspects fled the scene in the victim's 2013 white Nissan Altima, heading in an unknown direction.

No injuries were reported and the vehicle was recovered on the 2700 block of N. 47th Street.

D'Shawn, the person of interest that police are seeking, is described as a black male, between the ages of 18 and 23. Police say he is 5'8" with a medium build, dark complexion, low hair cut, light mustache, a tattoo on his right forearm with "love," on his bicep. Officials say he wore a gray and blue t-shirt, baggy jeans and black boots.
