PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — A man is dead after being hit by a car while trying to cross the Roosevelt Boulevard in Feltonville Thursday night.

Philadelphia Police say this happened around 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of the Boulevard and C Street.

According to witness accounts, a 22-year-old man driving a newer model Hyundai sedan appeared to have the right of way, but struck the pedestrian in the northbound lanes of the Boulevard.

The 22-year-old victim was taken to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries about an hour later.

Police say the driver of the car did stay on scene.
