“Who are SNAP eligible, hunger fighters, food educators and advocates for food access so that we can all share resources and knowledge about how to eat well on a budget.”

Farmer Karen Washington was the keynote speaker. She explains there’s a power dynamic to food:

“If you don’t have food, it’s hunger and poverty. If you eat the wrong food, it’s usually diet related diseases.”

She adds you have power THROUGH food too:

“The power of growing their food, the power of knowing where their food comes from and the power to make sure that they’re eating the right food.”
