26th Annual Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure Wraps Up At Art Museum
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The 26th Annual Susan G. Komen Philadelphia Race for the Cure took place Sunday morning at Eakins Oval and the Art Museum.
CBS 3 and The CW Philly hosted the opening ceremonies and live broadcasted the Race for the Cure®.

It is the largest run/walk event in the Philadelphia area and one of the community's most successful breast cancer events.

The Mother's Day tradition began at the Philadelphia Museum of Art/ Eakins Oval with the opening ceremonies at 7 a.m.
Then at 7:45 a.m., thousands of survivors marched down the iconic Art Museum steps for the emotional parade of survivors.
One woman said, "I could cry because I know I'm not the only one. There's all these survivors out here. My sister is out here. I have a lot of support."
She continued, "I see I am never alone. Sometimes when you go through this you think you are alone, and you just feel so down, but seeing all this is a beautiful thing today."

A 5K run/walk followed at 8:15 a.m. with the first runners crossing the finish line around 8:35 a.m.
