Reward Offered For Information On Homeless Man's Death In Swedesboro

By Dan Wing

SWEDESBORO, NJ (CBS) -- Authorities in Gloucester County, New Jersey are offering a reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of whoever is responsible for the death of a 61-year-old homeless man earlier this month.

The County Prosecutor's office says Sylvester Combs Jr.'s body was found in a trailer at an abandoned business in Swedesboro on April 6th.

He died from multiple head injuries.

Since then, the community has raised money to cover his funeral expenses and also held a candlelight vigil in his honor on Friday.

The prosecutor's office posted a $2,500 reward for information last week, and now the Borough Council of Swedesboro is matching that offer, bringing the total reward to $5,000.

Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at 856-384-5626.
