Howie Roseman: 'We're Not Trading Fletcher Cox'

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Fletcher Cox is the best player on the Philadelphia Eagles.

However, the 25-year-old Pro Bowl defensive end is entering the final year of his contract, and amid the rumor-obsessed NFL Draft season, trade talk regarding the 300-pound star grew legs.

On Monday, Howie Roseman put an end to that conversation stating that the Eagles are not trading Cox.

As for a new contract, Roseman wants to get a new deal done as soon as possible.

"We're not trying to play the leverage game," Roseman said via CSNPhilly.com. "I think if we were, I'd be more careful about my words, calling him a great player, someone that we want here for a long time. This is not one that we want to play a game. We want to sign him. We want to extend him."

Last week, Cox's agent Todd France clarified a report on the 94WIP Mike & Ike Show, that his client turned down a $60 million guaranteed new contract.
