Good Samaritan Who Found Quadriplegic Man Left For Dead Has Died
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Good Samaritan who found and saved the life of a quadriplegic man left for dead by his own mother in Cobbs Creek last year has died.
It was one year ago Thursday, 56-year old Fitzroy Anderson was taking a walk through a wooded area in Cobbs Creek with his grandson, when they came across something strange.
Anderson called police, who found the quadriplegic man and his wheelchair left abandoned by his mother -- who was in Maryland with her boyfriend.
That call saved the 21-year old's life as he was rushed to a hospital for treatment after a week in the woods with only a bible.
Anderson died from lung cancer on March 27th, but he was honored with a balloon release at the spot where he made the disturbing discovery.
Friends and family remember him as a charming, humble, loving and kind man.
