PA Attorney General's Office Catches Philadelphia Man In Child Pornography Probe

by Mark Abrams

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- 38-year-old Michael Gans of the 4000 block of Barnett Street, in the Wissonoming section of Philadelphia, is free on $25,000 bail after being charged with possession and distribution of child pornography and related offenses.

Investigators from the attorney general's office say Gans was snared in a probe of online sharing of suspected child pornography on peer-to-peer networks.

Authorities seized multiple computers from Gans' home and a computer forensics unit in the attorney general's office found at least 50 images of child pornography on them.

Gans faces a preliminary hearing tentatively set for April 21.
