This may sound like a description for a certain presidential candidate but it’s actually describing a brand new beer out of Dock Street Brewery called “Short-Fingered Stout.” The similarity between the brew and presidential candidate Donald Trump is no mistake.
The beer is the first of Dock Street’s “Friends Don’t Let Friends Vote Drumpf” series.
Marilyn Candeloro, VP of Dock Street Brewing Company explained that “Drumpf” is in reference to a popular John Oliver skit. In it the Comedy Central host brought attention to the fact that Donald Trump’s distant ancestors had actually been named Drumpf, which he believes sounds a lot less appealing. The beer’s other namesake refers to comments made by Marco Rubio about Trump having small hands for his 6 foot, 2 inch stature.READ MORE: The Aztecs 'Slowly Crush You': CBS Sports' Randy Cross Previews Fresno State-#21 San Diego State, Other Matchups
“We’re brewing this series to declare our disdain for Drumpf, and to extend a little nod of solidarity to our friends, fans and neighbors that also believe the country deserves better representation – on a national and international platform – in the race to be Commander in Chief,” read a statement on the brewery’s website. “We just can’t wrap our well-coiffed heads around a candidate who encourages his supporters to attack protesters at his rallies, wants to limit access to the U.S. based on religion, and flagrantly manipulates facts and data.”
The beer is just about done with the fermentation process and beer enthusiasts can expect a nice, chocolatey flavor with an ABV of 4.5 percent when it’s complete.
“We’ve never gone into the political realm before,” noted Candeloro. “But Kraft beer has a really strong voice right now and we wanted to use it,” said Marilyn Candeloro.MORE NEWS: Halloween 2021: Trick-Or-Treating Events In Philly-Area
Dock Street which is located on South 50th Street hasn’t settled on a release date but Candeloro says to expect “Short-Fingered Stout” sometime within the next two weeks.
