PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Author, political operative and surrogate for Donald Trump, Roger Stone, responded to accusations that he was calling violence at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland this Summer when he threatened to disclose the hotel room numbers of GOP delegates who switch from Donald Trump to another candidate.
Stone, during an interview with Dom Giordano on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT, lashed out at CNN for misconstruing his intentions.READ MORE: Bipartisan Election Bill Introduced In Pennsylvania
“CNN edited a video to imply that I’ve been calling for violence. If they would play the entire video, I said exactly to them what I said what I said to you. It’s a little slight of hand by the boys over at CNN. It’s intellectually and journalistically dishonest.”READ MORE: Police Release Video Of Alleged Suspects Wanted For Deadly Beating At Pat's Steaks In South Philadelphia
He reiterated that he is planning to bring as many protesters as possible to the convention in the event that delegates desert Trump, but they will not act violently.MORE NEWS: Man Hospitalized After Shooting Inside Concord Mall, Delaware State Police Say
“We need folks to go to Cleveland. We are going to be raising money for buses. We’ll be raising money for low cost housing. We’re in negotiations with a couple colleges that are closed down. We will have some low cost housing available to some on a first-come, first-served basis. We have been able to get some hotels in the outskirts of Cleveland. We hope to build the largest non-violent protest in the city of Cleveland’s history.”
