Villanova vs. UNC National Championship Is A Family Affair

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Whether Villanova or North Carolina wins the national title, one family will be happy either way...well actually two families, technically.

Villanova basketball player Kris Jenkins will be going up against Nate Britt from North Carolina on Monday night and the two are brothers in almost every sense of the word.

Jenkins and Britt have been friends since they were 10-years-old. In 2007, Jenkins' family fell on hard times and his mother, Felicia, made the tough decision to find a more stable home for her son.

That is when Melody Britt, Nate's mother stepped in. Their family adopted Jenkins.

"You know, he fit and it felt like, not that there was a piece missing, but he only added more to our family," Nate Britt told CBS News.

"To basically grow up and go through everything with a brother, he's going through the same workouts that you're going through," Kris said of his brother Nate. "You're doing everything together so it definitely makes it easier."

Britt and Jenkins went from being friends to being brothers, and they went from playing together as 10-year-olds on the court to playing against each other as grown men in the National Championship Game.

Melody even made a shirt to show that she is rooting for both teams to win and considers it a win-win for and the family.
