Fans Across Philadelphia Region Are Wild About Villanova

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Nova nation is sweeping the city of Philadelphia. Villanova plays against Oklahoma tonight in the Final Four match-up, and fans across the region are gearing up to watch the Wildcats.

It's more like Phila-Nova. Philly fans are rallying behind the Wildcats as they look to top the Sooners and earn a trip to the NCAA National Championship Game.

"I think they are going to win. I think they have a good chance. I think their defense has been playing awesome," said Alex from Philadelphia. "My dad is a Villanova grad, and so I've watched them my whole life. (I've) been watching them all year."

Erin Zina is rooting for them.

"I actually went to Temple (University)," she admitted. "Don't tell anybody, but I am a Villanova fan. Villanova fans are so dedicated, especially when they make it to the Final Four. I'm so excited. It would be awesome of they win."

The Philadelphia Flyers posted a video on their Facebook page, supporting the team, with players like Shayne Gostisbehere and Brayden Schenn singing their best version of the school's fight song.

And New Jersey resident Tony is pretty confident it will be a good night for Villanova.

"I think they are going to win," he said. "I think they have the best team, defense and offense and coach."

Jeff from Cherry Hill says he backs the 'Cats.

"They have a good program there," he said. "They play pretty gritty, which is one of the reasons Philadelphia likes them."

Watch parties will held all around the city to watch the big game. Some Villanova students will flood the Connelly Center, while others can head to the Field House or Misconduct Tavern in the city.

In the suburbs, Flip & Bailey's in Bryn Mawr or Baggataway Tavern in Conshohocken may be the place to cheer.
