Delaware Officials Seek Arsonist After Trailer Park Fire

NEWARK, D.E., (CBS) -- Delaware officials have announced that a search is on for an arsonist they say ignited several vacant trailers at a Newark trailer park on Tuesday afternoon.

The fire was reported just before 5:00 p.m. and officials say it took place at the Glasgow Court Trailer Park near Pulaski Highway.

A criminal investigation is now ongoing. Authorities say nine vacant trailers were damaged.

Police say that four other instances of trailers on fire have occurred since January  2015 and all have been declared arson.

Authorities say that in addition to the arsons, the suspect(s) have been disabling fire hydrants in the area delaying firefighters abilities to fight the flames.

One firefighter was injured during today's incident, officials say. Authorities say he is in good condition, suffering from burns and was treated at Christiana Hospital.

Officials are asking for the public's help and urge anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 800-TIP-3333. The State Fire Marshal's New Castle Division can be reached at 302-323-5375.
