Guilty Plea From Former High School Employee Accused Of Improper Relationship With Student

By Jim Melwert

PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. (CBS) -- A 27-year-old, former Plymouth-Whitemarsh high school employee has pleaded guilty to "corruption of minors" for an improper relationship with a student.

Michael Morse admitted to sending explicit text messages and having explicit conversations with a student who was a senior at Plymouth Whitemarsh high school.

Morse was working as an A-V tech at the school. The texts and phone calls started when the girl was 17.

A more serious charge of institutional sexual assault was not part of the plea.

The girl told police she and Morse had sex in the lights and sound booth of the high school auditorium. Prosecutor Stew Ryan says while it was never disputed that incident occurred, with the corruption of minors plea, he says it's unlikely Morse would even be employed in a job where he'd work with minors.

Morse is sentenced to 4-years probation, a $150 fine, community service, continuing therapy, and no contact with the victim.
