PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Thousands of teenage girls from all over the country are in Philadelphia for a qualifying volleyball tournament.

The sound of more than 470 teams playing volleyball on 68 court inside the Pennsylvania Convention Center was deafening. Madison from Texas was hopeful that the trip would end well for her and her team.

“We started at 8 this morning, we did good the first game, but our second game we kinda didn’t do as good, I have a good feeling about the next game,” the Texas volleyball player said.

Jordan from Virginia Beach was doing better.

“We are 3 and 0, I think we’re gonna do great and win all of our games,” Jordan said.

Her teammate, Alyssa said win or lose, it’s a great time.

“Meeting all great people, even though they don’t live by you and then doing all these tournaments, it’s just a great experience,” she said.

The prize at the end of the weekend is a ticket to the USA volleyball National Championships.
