Police Arrest 19-Year-Old In Connection To Double Murder
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a double murder in January.
19-year-old Ativa Jackson of West Wishart Street was taken into custody this afternoon, just before 1:00 p.m. Police made the arrest in the rear driveway of a home near Howland and Mayfair Streets.
Jackson has been charged with two counts of murder, and related crimes.
Police were called to Jackson's neighborhood on Sunday, January 3 just before 6:00 p.m. after reports of a person with a gun. On arrival, officers found three shooting victims. Two of them subsequently died from their injuries. One victim survived.
A $20,000 reward had been offered for any information leading to Jackson's arrest, but police say it's too early in the investigation to determine if any tip calls led to the arrest.
