Warm Weather Suits Local Golfers To A Tee

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It's only March, right? That's true, and many people are taking advantage of the record warmth while they can.

LATEST WEATHER

The weather on Wednesday suited some to a 'tee.' When the temperature in March (the 70's), matches your ideal golf score, it's a perfect day to hit the course.

The forecast came down to two simple words: beautiful day.

Suddenly, winter coats were an unwanted option. Along Kelly Drive, there were lots of runners as the temperature raced its way to record levels.

Out on the Cobbs Creek Golf Course, the warmth brought out the birdies...or pars...or bogeys.

"It's a pretty beautiful day actually," said golfer Adam Sinclair. "I actually went out yesterday. Played my first round yesterday so I'm coming out today to better my score."

Golfers all agreed that the weather couldn't be better. As for their scores...that's another story.

"Just enjoying the weather and playing some great golf," said Doug Sims. "Well actually, not so great golf."

We didn't expect to be out on the course in the middle of March so everybody should get a free ten strokes off their score.

One golfer told Eyewitness News, it should be illegal to be inside on a day like this.
