Legendary Tennis Coach Serves Some Inspiring Advice To Young Players

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A tennis coaching legend stopped in Philadelphia Tuesday to teach the game to some aspiring tennis stars.

84-year-old Nick Bollettieri has coached elite professional tennis players like Andre Agassi, Martina Hingis and Serena Williams.

But while teaching a tennis clinic with kids at the Gesu school in West Philadelphia he says he finds being able to introduce tennis to kids who otherwise would have never played the game the most rewarding aspect.

"There's no greater pleasure to see young children from the inner city schools get out and have fun and feel they have a chance in life," Bollettieri said.

He came to Philadelphia with 'Down the Line,' an organization that uses tennis to help under privileged kids.

"As the program grows, we can touch more lives and by doing that and the kids playing a little tennis their involved in physical fitness, they'll do better in school," Bollettieri said.  "Their also build their character."

Bollettieri 's coaching career dates back to the mid 1950's.
