College Board Rolls Out Redesigned SAT

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- All across the country, school students looking ahead to college sat down to take the SAT's this weekend. But this year's test is a little different.

The SAT's have been modified to focus on more practical areas of math. The test also moved away from obscure vocabulary words to focus instead on the use of relevant words in context. And there is no longer a penalty for guessing.

The SAT is administered by the College Board, a private nonprofit that helps streamline the path to higher education.
