Job Fair In Works For New Sixers Camden Facility

CAMDEN, N.J. (CBS) - The Philadelphia 76ers and the construction company that's building its new training facility in Camden will hold a job fair later this month.

Lisa Mattioli is the Diversity and Community Manager for Intech Construction, which is co-sponsoring the event. She says they're looking to fill ten to 20 craftworker positions:

"Roofers, carpenters, insulators, laborers, painters, electricians -- not so much limited to those, but those are a few we're looking for."

She says it's a union project:

"There will be union representation there from the various trade unions to answer questions, and to guide any interested candidates through the pre-apprenticeship program."

Mattioli says although the jobs aren't just for folks who live in New Jersey, "I'd love to see Camden residents come out, Camden County. This is all being built in their backyard."

The job fair will be held on St. Patrick's Day from beginning at 1-5 p.m. at the Waterfront Technology Center at 200 Federal Street in Camden.

For information, call Lisa at 215-243-4941.
