Second Grade Model And Designer Featured In Atlantic City Fashion Week

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A little girl who has already strutted the catwalk in her short years is about to make a big fashion statement. She is a 'model,' student at Christ The King School in Philadelphia and she's getting ready for the most exciting week in her life.

She's described as a second-grade fashionista. There's nothing better than seeing things through the eyes of a child.

Bright eyed, curious and talented, Nyjha Lawrence, is following her heart and clothing our world in confidence.

Lawrence has designed a 25-piece collection of clothing that will be shown at Atlantic City Fashion Week.

Helping her is Nerit Neru, a seamstress that had an instant connection to little Nyjha. The pairing is bringing Nyjha's colorful and creative fashion to life.

Christine Brown, Nyjha's mother, couldn't be more proud and describes her daughter as a "gift."

"I push her to be the best that she can be and I guess that's all a parent can really do," Brown said.

Nyjha will be showcasing her collection this Friday.
