Second Suspect Surrenders After Deadly NE Phila. High-Speed Crash

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- On Sunday, authorities arrested a driver in connection with a high-speed crash that took the life of three people in Northeast Philadelphia this past July. According to police, they arrested 20-year-old Christopher Bloomfield who was taken into custody following the issuing of an arrest warrant.

On Tuesday, authorities say the second driver in the incident, 20-year-old Ryan Farrell, surrendered himself to police. Farrell was wanted for Homicide by Vehicle in connection to the deadly crash.

Police say the incident took place on July 29 at 11:14 p.m. when a 2007 Acura traveled fown Sandmeyer Lane and struck a tree. Police say the vehicle split in two and ejected two female passengers, Yvette Gonzalez, 17, and Sabrina Rhoads, 17. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

A third victim was 20-year-old Felip Hernandez who was found trapped in the vehicle and was pronounced at the scene.
